The End of Love, the Start of a Journey

Illusive love.

Page 12.

When I first arrived in Reykjavik, the weather was very bad. Iceland was like a dead land while being viewed from the plane. Strong wind carried little rocks with blizzard and the pale ground was only covered with some blackish green rises and falls. There was no tree, neither a town. With roaring waves making foam on the land-sea border, the scenery was horrifying. I have never seen such scary environment.

This morning as I stepped out of the youth hostel, pea-like hail fell. So I had to hide at a waiting pavilion by the road. Because the blizzard came after the hail, I had to walk against the wind. The weather in Iceland was really hard to imagine. Sometimes there was hail, sometimes there was blizzard, with occasional rains, then the blue sky and white cloud showed up in the sky suddenly over your head. I walked quite a while to reach the BSI bus station.

Su,

Watching the aurora in Iceland is one of my most expected activities in my itinerary. But the weather of Iceland is notoriously unpredictable. Rainstorms, hail, and squalls take turns and a clear sky can become clouded in an instant. Mazu appeared in my dream last night and told me I would surely see the aurora, which reassured me a lot.

I see the aurora at the Grótta lighthouse that is not far away from Reykjavík. Charming green light keeps shifting shapes, trying to tie up the water like night sky.

Auroras do not show up on demand. Seeing it at the first night of my arrival is the second luckiest thing in my life.

Of course, the first one is meeting you. You taught me how to part from a loved one and cope with illusive love.
