So, we've arrived together at this point in time.

The multiple waves of cultural influence that have washed over Taiwanese shores across centuries have been absorbed and reflected in Taiwan's distinctly unique character. Taiwan's willfully laid strata of creative writing form a brilliant literary history that epitomizes our lives, our passions, our dreams, and our capabilities. As in the past, new waves will surely come, continuing the process of change in our literary landscape and leaving deposits of new literary inspiration in their wake. Literature is normally quiet. However, as long as each new generation of authors pours its essence into new creative efforts, we will continue to have hope.

POETRY IN THE GAME Interactive Installation
Every poet is a person who has invented a new game. Line segmentation, rhyme scheme selection, and accent choices are all parts of the game. We invite poet Tang Juan to summarize the game rules of six poets - Luo Fu, Yang Mu, Chen Yu-hong, Yang Chih-chang, Jing Xiang-hai, and Hsu Pei-fen. Using these rules, you can rewrite poems. Everyone can imitate the unique styles of the poets.

༼•̃͡ ɷ•̃͡༽ History Paves the Path Forward

We are now in the third decade of the 21st century.

The history of Taiwanese literature is the 'bedrock' upon which we stand. New tectonic shifts will again change the face of this literature and set down new 'layers' in this still-unfolding history. This history is also a 'star chart', showing the way forward into the future. The National Museum of Taiwan Literature is both bedrock and star chart. Time continues unabated. Let's push on together toward the next 'golden age'.

We are living today in the most 'literary' time in all of human history!

"Style" defines a writer. Style is a unique signature - like your fingerprints, heartbeat, and voice. We invite young writer Li Lu to mimic five important novelists in the history of Taiwan literature by using their styles to describe this scene. You will be able to spot the differences between these writers in terms of wording, sentence structure, and way of thinking.

Today, everyone has the chance to tell his/her story. While we appreciate lasting classical works, we delight in discovering new, emerging writers in today's literary scene. We are even more motivated to encourage everyone to write. We invite you to pick up a postcard and write down your answer.
