Detective with Literary Mind : Xu Bingding

Conclusion

In Xu Bingding's slash life, he was a performer / poet / novelist / cartoonist / lyricist, once a police officer and a member of the City Council. He devoted his life to the integration of literature with Taiwanese and folk beliefs and revived Taiwanese folk songs. He was an important local literato in Taiwan.

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature has published Looking for Hsiao Fêng Shên (小封神): Xu Bingding's Fucheng Literature Map, inviting writer Chen Zhengxiong to list 28 Tainan literature sites based on the places that appear in Hsiao Fêng Shên (小封神). The route is centered around the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, passing through Minquan Road, Zhongyi Road, and Xinmei Street. It takes people to explore historical sites such as Chihkan Tower, Mazu Palace, and Wu Garden. A unique history of Fucheng can be learned by visiting various gods and Buddhas.

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature has launched several versions of city literary puzzle games, “the Crazy God Shows” since 2019. It is based on Xu Bingding's Hsiao Fêng Shên (小封神), combining the temples and historical sites in Tainan City and integrating literature with Tainan landscapes in a game-like way. Through these games, players are invited to the world of Literature.
